What Are The Benefits Of The Spectra Wearable Pump?
- Many parents loved this pump’s wearable design which made it super easy to use while getting on with the rest of their days
- This pump is one of the few wearable designs that comes with hospital-grade strength, making it incredibly efficient at expressing milk
What Are The Drawbacks Of The Spectra Wearable Pump?
- Some buyers wished this pump came in a double option too so they could save some money rather than having to pay for two single pumps
Are There Any Accessories Included With The Spectra Wearable Pump?
The Spectra Wearable pump comes with a few accessories, including all of the parts you need to make it an effective, portable pump, along with a bottle for storage and feeding your little one! As this is a single pump, you’ll get one bottle with each pump you buy, so if you’re planning on double pumping, we’d suggest buying two single pumps so you can get two of everything. Unfortunately, there aren’t too many optional accessories online to buy for this pump as of now, but as it’s a relatively new product, we hope there will be more on offer in the near future!
What Sets The Spectra Wearable Pump Apart From The Crowd?
There’s plenty to like about the Spectra Wearable pump, and we think you’ll really like a lot of the same things we noticed! Here are a few of our favourites:
The portable, wearable design
We couldn’t mention all the things we loved about the Spectra Wearable pump without mentioning its portable design! The control panel is placed conveniently on the top of the pump for easy access while positioned in your nursing bra, so it’s a great option for when you never seem to have a second to sit down! The pump comes with a large collector which can hold more milk than the average wearable pump so you don’t have to keep emptying it and disrupting your flow. The suction is strong and the design is easy to keep in your bra, so there’s almost no risk of it falling or becoming dislodged. Simply attach it, turn it on, and get on with the rest of your day!
Hospital-grade strength
One of the most common complaints people have with wearable pumps is that they’re not strong enough to completely empty their breasts, but that issue doesn’t come with the Spectra Wearable pump! With its hospital-grade suction strength, this pump is excellent for parents on the go who don’t want to sacrifice their milk production just because of the wireless design. Plus, considering the price of this pump, we think you’re getting a bargain on a hospital-grade pump! No more being confined to a chair while you pump on a budget? Sign us up!
How Much Does The Spectra Wearable Pump Cost?
The Spectra Wearable pump currently costs $299, the same price as the brand’s Dual Compact Wall pump. We think this price is reasonably impressive, considering most wearable pumps are more expensive than the alternative. We’ve been hard-pressed to find a great wearable option for as cheap as this one! However, bear in mind that this price is only for one pump, so if you want to double up, you’ll need to pay extra.
What Is The Warranty On The Spectra Wearable Pump?
The Spectra Wearable pump not only comes with a competitive price but also one of the longest warranties on the market – two years! Considering most parents won’t pump for longer than two years with their children, we think this is a great warranty period that keeps your purchase protected throughout the majority of its use. Don’t worry about how late you find your manufacturer defects – Spectra has you covered!
Is The Spectra Wearable Pump Comfortable?
Yes, the Spectra Wearable pump is perfectly comfortable with its 24 mm flange and super-soft silicone material. We would’ve preferred the breast shields to be adjustable to change their size, but we still felt the original size comfortable throughout our entire pumping session. We also found this pump more comfortable to wear than wired alternatives, letting us get on with our days without having to sit down and wait for the pump to finish its cycle. Many people find wearable pumps more comfortable than traditional wall pumps!
Is The Spectra Wearable Pump Easy To Attach And Use?
The Spectra Wearable pump is super easy to attach thanks to the large flange that can easily be lined up with your body to prevent any pain. Once you’re happy with the connection between you and your pump, pull your nursing bra back over the top of the pump to secure it in place and turn it on. The controls are on the top of the motor, making them super easy to adjust without removing the pump from your bra, so feel free to adjust the controls as frequently as you need to!
Once you’re happy with the pump’s connection and strength, you’re free to get on with the rest of your day while your pump works in the background. After your session, simply use the easy-pour spout to store the milk either in the included bottle or a storage container. You can then either use the pump on the other side for an even pump or clean it ready for your next session.
Is The Spectra Wearable Pump Easy To Clean?
We found the Spectra Wearable pump incredibly easy to clean, especially as the pump, flange, and milk collector are all created with one-piece construction! This simply needs to be cleaned and sterilised, which we managed to get done within just five minutes. Then the pump was ready to be used again, so we had plenty of time to enjoy time with our babies before having to begin our next session. Overall, we couldn’t be happier with how easy this pump was to clean!
Final Thoughts On The Spectra Wearable Pump
Overall, we were really impressed with the Spectra Wearable pump! Some of our favourite features included the wearable design, which made it super easy to use throughout the day, and the hospital-grade strength to keep it as efficient and strong as possible. However, our only issue with this pump is that it’s single and doesn’t come in a double alternative, so you’ll either need to spend double the time pumping one side at a time or buy two single pumps for double the investment.
