What Are The Drawbacks Of The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump?

Are There Any Accessories Included With The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump?
We were impressed with the number of accessories the Mumma Owl came with, especially as it came with a flange that could be adjusted with other flange inserts that you can buy from The Night Owl’s website. These come in sizes 13, 15, 17, 19, and 21 mm, making sure you can find the perfect size for your body. We also really like that it comes with a charging cable so you don’t need to worry about finding one in your home, along with a bra adjustment buckle to keep the pump securely fitted against your breast which can prevent leaks as much as possible.
What Sets The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump Apart From The Crowd?
When testing the Mumma Owl breast pump out for ourselves, we found plenty of great features that we think other parents will love, too. Here are a couple of our absolute favourites:
The new and improved pump design
The Mumma Owl is the newest and most advanced design from The Night Owl, so it’s great if you’re looking for one with the latest features. With four modes and a whopping 15 levels of suction to choose from, the Mumma Owl offers plenty of versatility to create the most comfortable pumping routine possible. There’s also a pause function that none of the brand’s other pumps have, with a longer battery life of 90 minutes. The sound level is also lowest on this pump at 45 decibels, letting you use the pump at all hours of the day and night without disturbing the entire house. We found the Mumma Owl incredibly versatile and easy to use, making it perfect for new parents.
The unrestricted design
Another thing we really like about the Mumma Owl pump is how unrestrictive it is! The small size of 12.6 x 11.3 x 6.9 cm is perfect for wearing within your nursing bra, and the included bra adjuster makes sure you can get a perfectly snug fit every single time. The weight is also only 253 grams so you’d hardly feel the pump weighing you down, letting you get on with the rest of your day without being stuck to a nursing chair while pumping every few hours of the day. We also really liked that this pump was small enough to fit within our bags so we could take it out and about without it bogging us down.
How Much Does The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump Cost?
The Mumma Owl pump currently costs $187, which is slightly higher than the market average considering this is a single pump. However, you can also buy it in a double pump version for $299.84, which we think is quite impressive and offers an amazing saving! We’d definitely recommend you get the double pump if you’re planning to exclusively pump or know you’ll be using it frequently.
What Is The Warranty On The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump?
The Mumma Owl comes with a 12-month warranty, which we would’ve preferred to have been slightly longer considering the price. Most parents pump for between one and two years, so this warranty will give you enough coverage for around half of your pumping journey.
Is The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump Comfortable?
Yes, the Mumma Owl pump is super comfortable thanks to the sheer number of modes and suction levels you can choose from! This one comes with the highest number of settings from any The Night Owl pump, so you are in complete control of the suction strength and whether you want to use manual settings or an automatic pre-programmed mode. The silicone is also super soft against the skin, and we also love that you can choose from their range of flange insert sizes to find the perfect fit.
Is The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump Easy To Adjust?
We found the Mumma Owl breast pump super easy to adjust thanks to the brand’s size guide and range of flange inserts to choose from. Aside from the choice of 24 mm and 27 mm sizes that you can choose from for free, there are also five smaller flange insert sizes that you can buy separately to adjust the size of this pump to fit your body perfectly.
Is The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump Easy To Attach And Use?
The Mumma Owl pump could not be easier to attach and use! All you need to do is line the flange up with your breast before turning it on. Once you’re happy with the fit, pull your nursing bra back up to secure it against your body for the entire session. When using the pump, the LCD screen makes it as easy as possible to find the perfect setting for you. We really liked that this told us how long we’d been pumping so we could make sure both sides were pumped for a similar amount of time, and we also appreciated the pause function so we didn’t have to turn it off and lose our settings every time we needed a break. Once we were finished, all we had to do was pour the milk into a bottle or collection pouch and store it – simple as can be!
Is The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump Easy To Clean?
The Mumma Owl pump is simple enough to clean with a soft brush and warm soapy water. This pump has fewer pieces than any other The Night Owl designs, making cleaning much easier and quicker! The brand recommended that we didn’t have to sterilise the pump, but we did anyway and found no issues with this so we liked that we had that option if it made us feel more comfortable. The only issue is that it can’t be washed in the dishwasher which would’ve definitely made cleaning even more convenient!
Final Thoughts On The Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump
Overall, we were impressed with the Mumma Owl Wearable Breast Pump! Some of our favourite features were the new and improved design that set it apart from the rest of the market, as well as the unrestricted design that meant we could get on with the rest of our day while pumping. The only issue we had was the high price, but we appreciated that we could save a good chunk of money by buying the double pump option.
