What Sets The Uppababy Remi Travel Cot Apart From The Crowd?
When testing the Uppababy Remi out for ourselves, we found plenty of features that we really liked about this portacot. Here are some of our favourite features that we think you’ll really like, too:
Above-ground design
Too many of the portacots we review include a lower mattress height that simply sits on the floor. Most travel cots also come with thin mattresses which won’t offer as much padding and protection as everyday mattresses, which is why we like the Uppababy Remi’s design so much. The mattress won’t be left on the cold, harsh ground and your baby also won’t be directly in the path of chilly night time drafts. We found our babies slept better as a result of this, which is just another reason why we like the Uppababy Remi so much.
Zip-open panel
Another feature we really liked about the Uppababy Remi portacot was the zip-open panel which let us sit on the floor next to them and soothe them without having to lean into the cot for ages. Sleeping in a new cot can be daunting for young children, so having a zip-open panel where we could easily reach them and let them know we were there was incredibly helpful and special for us. Once our babies fell asleep we simply zipped up the panel again and left them to their peaceful night’s slumber.
How Much Does The Uppababy Remi Travel Cot Cost?
The Uppababy Remi costs $549, making it one of the more expensive travel cots we’ve seen on the market. However, people who travel frequently might feel like this investment is worthwhile, as the Uppababy Remi might just offer you a better night’s sleep than a cheaper travel co! Whether you want to drop such a large investment on a travel cot will all depend on how much you’re likely to use it.
What Is The Warranty On The Uppababy Remi Travel Cot?
The Uppababy Remi comes with a one-year extended warranty, giving you three years of protection in total, as long as you register the travel cot on Uppababy’s website within three months of your purchase. We were really happy with how long this warranty was as it gave us peace of mind that we didn’t have to scour the cot for manufacturer defects straight away.
Is The Uppababy Remi Travel Cot Safe?
Yes, the Uppababy Remi cot is very safe thanks to the clever design and airy materials. This cot has been awarded GREENGUARD® Gold Certification, which means this cot emits lower levels of chemicals than many other materials used on the market. The four sides made completely of mesh keep your little one cool and comfortable throughout their sleep, which we really appreciated when we were travelling to places with warmer climates. Another safety feature we really liked was the zip which couldn’t be opened from the inside, keeping our children safe in their cots without the risk of them breaking free.
Is The Uppababy Remi Travel Cot Easy To Adjust?
The Uppababy Remi portacot is incredibly easy to adjust between its bassinet and lower cot level, as the bassinet simply zips on and off within seconds. The simplicity of this lets you carry the bassinet attachment with you for when your little one needs somewhere safe to sleep, but you can also remove it within seconds when they want to play in their playard. We had no issues with adjusting this cot continually throughout the day!
Is The Uppababy Remi Travel Cot Easy To Manoeuvre?
We could not be happier with how easy the Uppababy Remi is to manoeuvre thanks to its 9 kg construction and compact fold. When folded, this cot turns into a long rectangle which can be stood up to take up as little floor space as possible, making it ideal for travelling on public transport. No need to worry about annoying other passengers – the Remi takes up almost no room at all.
Is The Uppababy Remi Travel Cot Easy To Assemble?
The Uppababy Remi portacot could not be easier to assemble – all you need to do is unfold it and place the mattress down! Adding the bassinet attachment was also super easy, but the user manual has plenty of instructions and information that you can follow if you get stuck with anything. The instructions don’t have any text to accompany the images, but we still managed to read them relatively easily without written information.
Is The Uppababy Remi Travel Cot Easy To Clean?
We had the Uppababy Remi cot cleaned within just a few minutes with a damp cloth and mild detergent. This cot is made from mesh and leatherette details, both of which are super easy to wipe down and dry quickly. Make sure you wait for everything to dry before folding the cot up again, and you’re ready to go again!
Final Thoughts On The Uppababy Remi Travel Cot
Overall, we were really impressed with the Uppababy Remi playard when testing it for ourselves. Some of our favourite features included the above-ground design to keep our children away from drafts, and the zip-open panel for easier access to our babies. However, we did find the zip to be quite loud, especially when using it during the night, so we were slightly worried about it waking our little ones up when we’d finished soothing them.
