What Are The Drawbacks Of The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot?

Are There Any Accessories Included With The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot?
Unfortunately, the Elyse cot doesn’t come with very many accessories at all. The only component we can consider an accessory is the large panels at the base of the slats, which we think might serve nicely as storage blockers, letting you store things beneath the bed without your nursery looking cluttered! You’ll need to buy the mattress and sheets separately though, so make sure you get them for a 130 x 69 cm size to prevent turning this cot into an unsafe sleep space. Anything else you want to use will have to be purchased separately, too.
What Sets The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot Apart From The Crowd?
We really liked plenty of features about the Elyse cot, and we think you’ll really appreciate them too! Here are a couple of our favourites:
Hidden under-bed storage
One of our favourite features of the Elyse cot was the under-bed space, which we personally liked to use for storage. The design of this crib also featured a large panel to hide this space, keeping our storage boxes hidden from plain sight and making our nursery appear much more organised and spacious as there weren’t clothes and toys cluttering up the entire space! While this isn’t specifically considered under-bed storage on Tasman Eco’s product page, we think many parents will appreciate it just as much as we do, as it looks much better to store things underneath this bed than other cribs we’ve tried.
Can be converted into a full toddler bed
Many of the convertible cribs we see on the market ask parents to remove one side of the bars and call it a day, so we really like that the Tasman Eco can be converted into a toddler bed that actually looks like a bed! We found this simple enough to convert (certainly easier than adjusting the base mattress height!), and our children loved helping build their big kid beds out of their old cots. It made them all the more excited to make the transition and sleep soundly at night!
How Much Does The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot Cost?
The Elyse cot currently costs $499, making it suitable for most smaller to medium-sized budgets. We personally think the price is well worth the quality you’re getting with this crib, especially with the under-bed storage and weighty materials! Bear in mind that you’ll also need to buy a mattress on top of this cost, though.
What Is The Warranty On The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot?
The Elyse cot comes with a two-year warranty from Tasman Eco, which we were happy with considering the price and lifespan of this crib. The brand recommends using the bed until your baby reaches 3.5 years of age, so this warranty should cover you for over half the time they’ll be using it.
Is The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot Safe?
Yes, the Tasman Eco Elyse cot is very safe and adheres to the Australian safety standards (AS/NZS:2172 2013) to make sure you can be completely comfortable using this cot with your little one. The bars are evenly spaced, with the gaps between them deemed safe by the standard, so there’s no risk of entrapment here. You can sleep soundly knowing your baby is doing the same in their secure bed which has been thoughtfully designed to keep them protected.
Is The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot Easy To Adjust?
When we tried to adjust the mattress height of the Elyse cot, we were unfortunately surprised at how difficult this was to do. We either had to remove all the mattress slats separately to get to the hardware controlling the base height or turn the cot over to reach it without disturbing the bars. As turning it over might’ve damaged the headboard, we opted for the former – and it took ages. In our opinion, the Elyse cot is definitely not the easiest to adjust.
Is The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot Easy To Manoeuvre?
No, the Elyse cot isn’t designed to be moved frequently, so we wouldn’t consider it easy to manoeuvre at all. In fact, with a weight of 52 kg, this is one of the heaviest cots we’ve found! When moving the crib to its final resting position, make sure you ask another adult for help lifting it rather than dragging it along the floor, as this can damage the legs. Once you’re happy with its placement, we recommend moving it as little as you can!
Is The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot Easy To Assemble?
When we were assembling the Elyse cot, we noticed that the instructions were for three cots instead of just the one we had. While we understand the reasoning for this, we found it to be a little confusing when we were reading about a cot we didn’t have in our user manual. The instructions were also quite confusing and difficult to follow, so this wasn’t the most enjoyable assembly experience we’ve had.
Is The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot Easy To Clean?
We found the Elyse co easy enough to clean, especially thanks to the closed headboard design! This gave us fewer bars to clean between, so we didn’t need to spend as much time on them. However, we will note that the large bar at the bottom of the crib makes it quite difficult to clean underneath, so bear this in mind if you have carpets that need vacuuming often.
Final Thoughts On The Tasman Eco Elyse Cot
We really enjoyed testing out the Tasman Eco Elyse cot for ourselves, with some of our favourite features being the hidden under-bed storage and how it can be converted into a toddler bed with no bars! We did find this cot to be super heavy though, which made it difficult to move and assemble on our own without help – so make sure you have a second pair of hands that can assist you in adjusting and building this bed.
