What Are The Benefits Of The Tasman Eco Elba Cot?
- Many parents really like the drop-side design and how safe it feels, along with all the safety testing it undergoes to make sure it’s suitable for babies and older children
- This crib is made from premium materials without featuring a premium price tag, so it’s excellent for parents on a budget
What Are The Drawbacks Of The Tasman Eco Elba Cot?
- Some parents would’ve preferred this crib to come with some accessories such as a mattress, as having to buy this on top makes it less budget-friendly
Are There Any Accessories Included With The Tasman Eco Elba Cot?
The Elba cot doesn’t come with any accessories, unfortunately, aside from the crib itself and the drop-side mechanism. This means that you’ll need to buy the mattress and fitted sheets separately, so make sure you choose one that’s 131 x 75 cm. This isn’t one of the most common sizes to find on the market, so you might find it easiest to buy one of the recommended mattresses from Tasman Eco’s website so you don’t have to waste too much time looking for a suitable option.
What Sets The Tasman Eco Elba Cot Apart From The Crowd?
We really enjoyed testing out the Elba cot and found plenty of features we think other parents will love, so here are some of our absolute favourites:
Safe drop-side design
One of our favourite features of the Elba cot is the drop-side crib that has been rigorously tested against Australian safety standards. Some drop-side cribs bring safety concerns, but the Elba crib isn’t one we had any worries about. While using the drop-side, we really liked how it helped our backs stop straining and hurting so much as we reached in to tend to our little ones. We also loved that it was silent and didn’t wake our babies up while we were operating the crib, so we didn’t have to worry about avoiding using this function in the middle of the night.
Premium quality for a budget-friendly price
Another thing we really appreciate about the Elba cot is the premium quality materials used. As soon as we unpacked the box and began building this crib, we noticed how durable and strong the materials felt! The Radiata pine is all FSC certified and sustainably sourced too, so you can rest assured that your purchase is as good for the environment as it is for your little one. We were really impressed with the quality of this one, and we think you will be too!
How Much Does The Tasman Eco Elba Cot Cost?
The Elba cot currently costs $449.99, suitable for parents with medium budgets. This crib, with its three configurations, can be used for around 3.5 years, so we think the versatility and functionality of this asking price are well worth the price. However, it’s up to you whether you think this price is suitable for your needs and its longevity.
What Is The Warranty On The Tasman Eco Elba Cot?
The Elba cot comes with a five-year warranty, which we think is incredibly impressive considering the reasonable price and how long the crib can be used! Tasman Eco recommends that this cot can be used for 3.5 years, so your purchase will be protected for more than the time you’ll be using it! This means that your initial purchase will be protected even if you’re using the crib with another child once your eldest has outgrown it!
Is The Tasman Eco Elba Cot Safe?
Yes, the Elba cot is fully safe and conforms to Australian safety standards (AS/NZS 2172: 2013), so you don’t have to worry about any part of the crib being deemed unsafe. Some parents might have concerns about the drop-side, but this has been extensively researched and tested to make certain it’s safe for babies and older children. While testing it for ourselves, we were pleasantly surprised with how safe and secure this crib felt.
Is The Tasman Eco Elba Cot Easy To Adjust?
The Elba cot could not be easier to adjust, thanks to the mattress base’s need for only four bolts to attach to the headboards. This means we only need to unscrew these before readjusting them into their new position, letting you get this done within just ten minutes or so. We’d recommend asking someone to help with this to make it even easier, but we managed to adjust the base on our own without any issues.
Is The Tasman Eco Elba Cot Easy To Manoeuvre?
No, we wouldn’t consider the Elba cot very easy to move at all, but that’s not what it’s been designed for! This crib weighs 34 kg, so it’s better suited for keeping in the nursery. Some parents might also want a crib that they can move around their houses to keep their little ones close, but we’d recommend getting a separate pack-and-play for this purpose. The Elba is better kept in its final position for the years you’ll be using it.
Is The Tasman Eco Elba Cot Easy To Assemble?
We found the Elba cot really easy to assemble, especially considering there are only five pieces to attach! The mattress base is completely slatted, but it’s still created as one piece so you don’t need to worry about attaching each slat one by one. We really liked how intuitive the design was so we could get the crib up and running within just half an hour. We really liked the instructions and how detailed they were, so make sure you keep the user manual safe so you can use it in the future.
Is The Tasman Eco Elba Cot Easy To Clean?
We were a little worried about cleaning the Elba cot as it’s made from a natural wood colour rather than a patent white, but we were happily surprised by how quick and easy this was to do. The wood is all sealed with a safe stain, letting the damp cloth glide over it without a hitch. There are plenty of bars to clean though, so make sure you have plenty of time to get around all of them!
Final Thoughts On The Tasman Eco Elba Cot
Overall, we really enjoyed testing out the Elba cot for ourselves and appreciated plenty of its features. Some of our favourites were the drop-side design that has been extensively safety tested, along with the premium quality. We would’ve preferred this crib to have come with a few accessories such as a mattress, especially as the size it requires isn’t one of the more common and most readily available options.
