What Are The Benefits Of The Mocka Genevieve Cot?
- Many parents really liked how this cot could be used in three different ways to grow with their children
- The Genevieve cot matches perfectly with the rest of the Genevieve furniture set so you can furnish your entire nursery easily
What Are The Drawbacks Of The Mocka Genevieve Cot?
- Some parents wanted a longer warranty than just one year as this isn’t very generous considering the price
Are There Any Accessories Included With The Mocka Genevieve Cot?
Unfortunately, the Mocka Genevieve cot doesn’t come with any accessories so you’ll need to buy these separately. The good news is that you’ll only need to buy a mattress and sheets to be able to use this cot right away, so make sure you buy a 130 x 69 cm cot mattress before you want to use it! This is one of the most common mattress sizes on the market, so you shouldn’t have an issue with buying the best one for your little one. This cot also doesn’t come with the Toddler Bed Conversion Kit, so you’ll need to buy this separately if you want to use this crib to its full advantage!
What Sets The Mocka Genevieve Cot Apart From The Crowd?
There are plenty of features that set the Mocka Genevieve cot apart from the rest, including:
Gorgeous design with matching furniture
One of our favourite things about the Mocka Genevieve cot is, of course, its lovely chic design including the classic lattice design along the edge. Not only does this create an instant focal point in your room, but it also matches perfectly with the rest of the Genevieve collection! The set includes the:
- Genevieve Cot
- Genevieve Six Drawer unit
- Genevieve Bedside Table
Mocka also offers a four-piece Genevieve Nursery Bundle which lets you buy the cot and six drawer unit with a mattress and a nursery chair. We love that you can choose extra furniture pieces that match the Genevieve cot perfectly as we didn’t need to think about matching furniture from separate brands.
Three modes of use
The Genevieve cot comes with three modes of use which is another of its fan-favourite features! Not only are there two bassinet heights to choose from, including a bassinet and cot height to use depending on your little one’s development, but you can also convert it to a toddler bed! You’ll need to buy the Genevieve Cot Toddler Bed Half Frame to convert it into this third mode, and this lets you use it for another few years until your child is ready to graduate into a full-sized single bed.
How Much Does The Mocka Genevieve Cot Cost?
The Mocka Genevieve Cot currently costs $479.99, which we think is reasonable considering this cot can be used for five years and therefore offers excellent value for money. We would’ve liked to have seen the Toddler Bed Conversion Kit included within this price though, as that’s another $129.99 on top of the base cot’s initial price.
What Is The Warranty On The Mocka Genevieve Cot?
Mocka offers a one-year warranty on all of their products including the Mocka Genevieve Cot. Considering how much you’re paying for this cot, we would’ve liked to see a more generous warranty to protect your investment for longer. This means you’ll have to keep an eye out for defects right out the box to make sure you can log an issue before the warranty runs out.
Is The Mocka Genevieve Cot Safe?
Yes, the Mocka Genevieve cot is very safe and complies with all of the necessary Australian and New Zealand safety standards (AU/NZS 2172) along with the Consumer Protection Notice No. 6 of 2005 so you don’t have to worry about any issues cropping up from this. The design includes fitted sides which also offer maximum protection, with the two base heights perfect for letting you choose when your baby is ready for the next step. This cot has been safety tested in a specialist third-party testing facility with the best skills, experience, and equipment to determine its safety, and how better to put your mind at rest before buying a crib?
Is The Mocka Genevieve Cot Easy To Adjust?
We found the Mocka Genevieve cot very easy to adjust between the bassinet and cot mattress level, as all we needed was to remove four screws before moving the mattress base to its correct position. The cot comes with a separate frame to sit beneath the base even at its lowest level, so you don’t have to worry about reattaching the legs or wasting time removing tens of screws before getting the cot adjusted! With the help of another set of hands, we had this cot adjusted within just ten minutes.
Is The Mocka Genevieve Cot Easy To Manoeuvre?
The Mocka Genevieve cot isn’t designed for moving frequently, so we wouldn’t consider it to be easily manoeuvrable. It is designed to be kept in one place as a focal point and permanent sleep solution. However, with a weight of 25 kg and bars on all sides, we found this cot very easy to pick up with the help of someone else. This meant we could lift it safely into place without damaging the legs or weakening its structure.
Is The Mocka Genevieve Cot Easy To Assemble?
With only seven steps to getting the Mocka Genevieve cot up and running, we found it simple enough to assemble. The legs and base frame took some extra time to assemble which we hadn’t had to deal with on other cots, but the overall finished look of the Genevieve cot more than made up for the extra effort in our opinion! Make sure you follow the user manual’s instructions to get your cot assembled as quickly as possible.
Is The Mocka Genevieve Cot Easy To Clean?
The Genevieve cot is mostly simple to clean with a damp cloth, although we did find that the latticed design seemed to harbour dust more than the rest of the cot. The corners here were very tricky to get into, although we found that a microfibre cloth managed to wick away as much of the dust as possible while also still being gentle on the wood and paint.
Final Thoughts On The Mocka Genevieve Cot
Overall, we really enjoyed testing out the Genevieve cot for ourselves. Some of our favourite features were the 3-in-1 functionality and how the gorgeous design matched perfectly with the rest of the Genevieve furniture set from Mocka! We would’ve preferred to have seen a longer warranty though, as we don’t think one year is generous enough considering the cost of this crib.
