Are There Any Accessories Included With The Joie Excursion Portacot?
We were really impressed with how many accessories the Joie Excursion Portacot came with! Not only do you get a full-sized portacrib that can be used for both sleeping and playtime, but you also get a bassinet that zips into the design for ultimate safety. It also comes with accessories that sit on top of the cot, including a changing unit that can be used on and off the crib, and a playtime rocker with soft toys for young babies. You’ll also get a removable canopy to use to shade your baby while they’re sleeping, and a carry bag to transport all of these things with you on your holidays. Oh, and it comes with a mattress included, too!
What Sets The Joie Excursion Portacot Apart From The Crowd?
When testing the Joie Excursion Portacot out for ourselves, we were really impressed with plenty of features we’d consider to be standout. Here are a few of our favourites:
The endless accessories!
We’ve already mentioned how much you get with the Joie Excursion Portacot, but we’re still so impressed that we had to mention it twice! This travel cot comes with two safe sleep spaces, including a bassinet and cot depending on your little one’s age, along with plenty of accessories to help care for and entertain them while on holiday. The changing station is super helpful and easy to wipe down, while the cosy playtime rocker can be used anywhere on the floor to keep your baby entertained while you’re getting ready or taking some much-needed me-time. Considering the lower price, we think the value for money of the Joie Excursion Portacot is excellent – especially when you consider how helpful all of its accessories are bound to be for new parents.
Elevated base
Another of our favourite features of the Joie Excursion Portacot is the elevated base which sits just above the floor, which can prevent your baby from being directly in the line of draughts. Too many travel cots we see place the mattress super close to the floor which is not only less comfortable, but also more likely to leave them exposed to draughts. The elevated base of the Joie Excursion Portacot keeps your little one happy and comfortable throughout the night, which will hopefully lead to fewer wake-ups!
How Much Does The Joie Excursion Portacot Cost?
The Joie Excursion Portacot costs $349, which we think is a decent price considering how many accessories you get with this purchase! While this price might be slightly higher for parents who don’t plan on travelling very much with their children, we think it’s an excellent option if you want to take your child out regularly while benefiting from extra features like a rocker and a changing station.
What Is The Warranty On The Joie Excursion Portacot?
Joie offers a two-year warranty on the Excursion Portacot, which we really appreciated as it covered our usage for the majority of the time we were using the crib! This portacot can be used until around three years old, so we think the warranty is decently generous considering the price and functionality of the crib.
Is The Joie Excursion Portacot Safe?
Yes, the Joie Excursion Portacot is very safe for children under the age of three. The bassinet has high-rise sides which makes it less likely for them to be able to pull themselves up, and the frame is plenty sturdy to make sure they’re safe and secure in their beds. The changing station and rocker attachments also feature Joie’s SecureClick system that helps you easily attach or remove them from the frame, making sure you can use them without the concern of them coming loose.
Is The Joie Excursion Portacot Easy To Adjust?
The Joie Excursion Portacot could not be easier to adjust between its bassinet and cot bases. All you need to do is zip the bassinet attachment into the crib, which leaves you with a full-sized bassinet that gives your little one plenty of room to play and get comfortable. There’s no need to unzip this until you’re completely finished using it, as the cot folds with this attachment are still attached!
Is The Joie Excursion Portacot Easy To Manoeuvre?
Yes, the Joie Excursion Portacot is super easy to move around thanks to its quick folding mechanism and helpful travel bag. We found the changing mat and rocker a little difficult to fit into this bag along with the cot, so this might make the entire unit a little less portable. Also, with an overall weight of 15 kg, there are definitely lighter travel cots on the market if you’re wanting to travel light.
Is The Joie Excursion Portacot Easy To Assemble?
The Joie Excursion Portacot is super easy to assemble as everything was already pre-assembled right out of the box! All you need to do is work out how to unfold and fold the cot, which we had down within a few minutes. You can find all of this information in the user manual, although we will note that we found the instructions a little confusing to follow.
Is The Joie Excursion Portacot Easy To Clean?
The Joie Excursion Portacot is very easy to clean because most of the material is made from polyester and mesh, meaning it can be wiped down within a second. The changing station is also made of wipeable material, so don’t worry about stains or the cot looking old and worn before its time!
Final Thoughts On The Joie Excursion Portacot
Overall, we really enjoyed testing the Joie Excursion Portacot and think it’s a great option for many parents who want an all-in-one solution for their family holidays. Some of our favourite features included the added accessories that come with it and the elevated base that prevented drafts from waking our children up. We would’ve preferred for it to have been easier to carry around and lighter, so we think it’s best for holidays when you’re not doing a lot of walking.
