What Are The Benefits Of The Jengo Kali Cot?
- Many parents really liked how easy the cot was to assemble thanks to the clear instructions and pre-made pieces
- This cot is one of the more inexpensive options on the market and therefore should be suitable for most parents’ budgets
What Are The Drawbacks Of The Jengo Kali Cot?
- Some parents wished that the bars were a little closer together to prevent their children from sticking their hands and legs out of the cot so much while they’re sleeping
Are There Any Accessories Included With The Jengo Kali Cot?
Sadly the Jengo Kali cot doesn’t come with any accessories, so you’ll need to buy them separately. This includes the mattress, so make sure you choose one that’s the correct size for this cot, which is 130 x 69 cm. Cot mattresses come in many thicknesses, so look for one between 10 and 15 cm for the Kali cot. The bars are quite wide on this cot, but we recommend making sure you look into safe sleep guidelines before considering buying any other accessories to use with this crib.
What Sets The Jengo Kali Cot Apart From The Crowd?
There are quite a few standout features of the Jengo Kali cot, so here are some of our favourites:
Budget-friendly cot
One of our favourite features about the Jengo Kali cot is its budget-friendly price, making it suitable for most parents! This cot can be used up to 18 kg, which most children reach between two and three years of age, so you’ll get plenty of use from this one cot. Most children will be ready to move to a toddler bed around this time anyway, so we don’t think a slightly lower weight limit is a bad thing at all. Why spend more on a cot when they’ll outgrow it before they max out the weight limit anyway?
Ease of assembly
We also really like how easy the Jengo Kali cot is to put together, with us getting the cot up and running within just twenty minutes! The hardware is all strong and durable too, so we didn’t have to waste time struggling with finding other screws that might work in each hole. You’ll get it up and running even quicker if you have another set of hands to help, too!
Two mattress heights
The Jengo Kali cot also comes with two mattress base heights: one for looking after newborns easier on parents’ backs, and another for older toddlers who can pull themselves up to keep them safe. This is super easy to adjust with just one person, but even easier with two people. We really like this feature as it keeps your little one safe, despite the cot being a budget-friendly option with limited additional features.
How Much Does The Jengo Kali Cot Cost?
The Jengo Kali cot costs $229.99, making it one of the more affordable options on the market. We think this is an excellent price that makes the Kali cot suitable for most parents, especially those who don’t want to overpay for a cot that their children are only going to use for a few years!
What Is The Warranty On The Jengo Kali Cot?
The Jengo Kali cot comes with a one-year warranty, which isn’t too surprising considering the price and weight limit of this crib. As it can be used for between two and three years, the manufacturer’s warranty covers your purchase for at least a third of how long your little one will use their newborn cot.
Is The Jengo Kali Cot Safe?
The Jengo Kali cot is very safe, and you can rest assured that it’s been safety tested to make sure there’s nothing to worry about using it with young children. We found the bars a little wider than the market average, which worried us a little with little ones loving to stick their arms and legs out of the crib. However, this doesn’t mean they’re not safe for use at all, so don’t feel tempted to use cot bumpers to hide the gaps as these can be dangerous and go against safe sleep practices.
Is The Jengo Kali Cot Easy To Adjust?
Yes, the Jengo Kali cot is extremely easy to adjust with just a few screws to move before the slatted base. We were able to adjust the cot’s mattress base within just a few minutes on our own, but it would’ve definitely been easier if we had someone to help – so ask for help if possible!
Is The Jengo Kali Cot Easy To Manoeuvre?
The Jengo Kali cot is one of the easier static cots we’ve tried to move, thanks to the 16.1 kg weight. While it doesn’t have castors or any functionality to move it from one place to another, the weight is much lighter than most other cots on the market, so you should be able to move it on your own. The width is smaller than most internal door frames, so you should be able to move it from room to room, too, which can be great for keeping your newborn close in those first early weeks.
Is The Jengo Kali Cot Easy To Assemble?
The Jengo Kali cot is super easy to assemble, especially with only five main pieces to put together! We found the user manual’s instructions super easy to read and had the cot up and running within less than half an hour – on our own! Of course, we think it would be even quicker and simpler for you to enlist the help of a friend to get the cot built, but it’s also more than manageable to make it with a single set of hands.
Is The Jengo Kali Cot Easy To Clean?
We found the Jengo Kali cot simple enough to clean, although there are quite a few bars and corners that can be difficult to reach very crevice of. We’d recommend using a soft-bristled brush for the corners and taking your time with it, as these can quickly gather dust and harbour bacteria. Wipe the flat surfaces with warm soapy water to keep them germ-free, too.
Final Thoughts On The Jengo Kali Cot
Overall, we think the Jengo Kali cot is a great option for parents who are looking for a budget-friendly cot to use until their little ones graduate to a toddler bed. Some of our favourite features were the two mattress base heights and how easy the cot was to assemble, although we would’ve preferred the bars to have been slightly closer together for our personal peace of mind.
