We were pleasantly surprised with the accessories that the Cocoon Nest cot came with, so you might not need to buy many separately at all! This crib comes with the mattress included, so all you need to get is a fitted sheet to the correct size. We really liked that this cot came with a mattress so that we could use it straight away right out of the box. Plus, oval mattresses are much more difficult to find on the market, so this being included took a lot of stress out of our customer experience.

There’s plenty that sets the Nest cot apart from the rest of the market in our opinion, so here are a few of our favourite features that we think you’ll really like too:
The oval design
One of our favourite features is the actual design of the Nest cot, which comes with rounded corners instead of a traditional rectangular shape. The rounded edges might be able to give your little one more security and comfort while they sleep, especially when they’re younger and still adjusting to life outside the womb. Some research has been done to suggest that oval cots are more effective at helping younger babies sleep more soundly on their own, so using the Nest cot might offer your entire family a better night’s sleep!
4-in-1 functionality
Another feature we love about the Nest cot is how it can be used in four different ways, giving you plenty of versatility and value for money! The first configuration is a compact bassinet which suits newborns best, and this can be extended into a larger crib with a higher and lower mattress height. Once your little one becomes more independent, you can remove one of the sides to turn it into a toddler bed. This is already impressive enough, but Cocoon says why stop there? Once your child has outgrown their toddler bed, you can turn it into a table and two chairs to keep them using it for longer. We love how many years of use you can get out of this one crib!
How Much Does The Cocoon Nest Cot Cost?
The Cocoon Nest cot currently costs $998, making it one of the more expensive cribs on the market. This might put some people off, but considering that this crib can be converted into four different configurations, we think the price is reasonable. Also, you’re paying for the quality, and Cocoon does not disappoint!
What Is The Warranty On The Cocoon Nest Cot?
The Cocoon Nest comes with a two-year warranty which, while we agree is better than nothing, we also think it could’ve been a little more generous considering the price of this crib. As one with a higher investment required from parents, we were hoping for the purchase to be protected for a few more months at least.
Is The Cocoon Nest Cot Safe?
Yes, the Cocoon Nest cot is very safe and adheres to the Australian safety standards (AS/NZ 2172:2010), so you don’t have to worry about using a potentially dangerous and untested baby item. This crib grows with your little one, so you can always rest assured that they’re sleeping in the safest place for their developmental milestones. We really liked how the wheels could be locked in place so there wasn’t any risk of them going anywhere when we didn’t want them to.
Is The Cocoon Nest Cot Easy To Adjust?
The Cocoon Nest is one of the more difficult cribs for us to adjust, as instead of just moving the base up and down from its bassinet to cot mattress base heights, you’ll need to extend the oval shape as well. This involves attaching side panels to the crib and extending the mattress base. While we didn’t find this too difficult to do, it was still quite long-winded and more work than we were expecting.
Is The Cocoon Nest Cot Easy To Manoeuvre?
The Nest cot is a good option if you’re hoping to wheel your little one around with you as they sleep! The castor wheels are high-quality and excellent for moving the cot around, especially when you want to rock your baby to sleep without straining your back. Thanks to the thinner width, the Nest cot should also be able to fit through the majority of doorways so you can keep your little one close instead of being restricted to only one room as they nap.
Is The Cocoon Nest Cot Easy To Assemble?
We found the Cocoon Nest cot quite easy to assemble, especially when beginning with its bassinet configuration! This is only two rounded pieces attached together with the mattress base to create a circular bassinet, so we had it up and running within twenty minutes! Converting it to its cot and toddler bed is also simple enough, but bear in mind that it’ll take a while to assemble these different modes. Plus, you’ll need to store the extra pieces until you need them, which isn’t always ideal when you have a smaller home.
Is The Cocoon Nest Cot Easy To Clean?
The Nest cot is easy enough to clean with warm, soapy water, but bear in mind that there are quite a few bars to clean between! The circular shape means there are fewer corners to clean within though, making this process a little quicker and easier. The configuration you’re currently using will determine how quickly you can get the crib cleaned, but we found all of them simple enough to clean.
Final Thoughts On The Cocoon Nest Cot
We really enjoyed testing the Cocoon Nest cot out for ourselves, with some of our favourite features being the 4-in-1 functionality and the oval shape. We especially liked that this cot could be converted into a table and two chairs once your child had outgrown their bed, so you can keep getting more value from your money for years to come! Our only complaint is that we didn’t like having to store the extra pieces until it was time to use them as it took up extra room we didn’t necessarily have during the newborn stage.
