What Are The Benefits Of The Cocoon Evoluer Cot?
- Many parents love how this crib comes with four uses, including a bassinet, cot, toddler bed, and kid’s sofa
- The cot has been made in Australia with New Zealand pine wood, so you can enjoy the thought of supporting local businesses while using this premium-quality crib
What Are The Drawbacks Of The Cocoon Evoluer Cot?
- Some parents wished the warranty was longer as one year didn’t give them much time to spot defects and potential issues
Are There Any Accessories Included With The Cocoon Evoluer Cot?
Unlike many other cribs on the market these days, the Cocoon Evoluer cot actually comes with a few impressive accessories instead of requiring you to pay for them separately! With this cot, you’ll get a mattress included and a toddler rail for when you want to convert the crib into a toddler bed. Most of its competitors ask you to buy these things separately, so we really liked that we got them for free and could use them straight away! The only thing we needed to buy separately was a few mattress fitted sheets, and thanks to the common 132 x 70 cm size, it was super easy to find some that we loved.
What Sets The Cocoon Evoluer Cot Apart From The Crowd?
When testing the Cocoon Evoluer cot for ourselves, we found plenty of features that we think other parents will love! Here are some of our personal favourites:
4-in-1 functionality
Of course, we can’t talk about the Evoluer crib without mentioning one of its coolest features: It converts into four separate uses! We really like this feature, as it gives parents much more versatility and independence to use the cot however they want it. You can use the crib right from birth with the bassinet function before lowering the mattress to a cot configuration. Once your little one is happy to gain some more independence, you can then change it into a toddler bed with the included toddler guard rail! Most brands stop there with their configurations, but not Cocoon! The Evoluer has a fourth option in the form of a kid’s sofa, which can keep them using the crib for much longer – even if it’s not for sleep.
Locally made in Australia
Another thing we really like about the Evoluer cot is that it’s locally made right here in Australia, so we don’t have to worry about broken pieces from our cribs going on long journeys! The crib is also made from sustainably sourced New Zealand pine wood, so nothing’s been sourced from too far away. We really liked this fact because it made us feel like we were supporting local businesses, along with benefiting from higher-quality pieces that would last much longer than cheaper materials.
How Much Does The Cocoon Evoluer Cot Cost?
The Cocoon Evoluer cot currently costs $899, making it suitable for medium to high budgets. While you might think this price is a little steep for a crib, it’s important to remember that you’re also getting a free mattress and conversion kit which you’d otherwise have to buy separately for other cots on the market. Considering its quality and versatility, we don’t think this price is too steep for the Evoluer.
What Is The Warranty On The Cocoon Evoluer Cot?
The Cocoon Evoluer comes with a one-year warranty as all Cocoon cots do. We would’ve preferred for this to have been slightly longer considering how much the cot costs on its own, especially so we didn’t have to rush looking for manufacturing defects before our protection expired.
Is The Cocoon Evoluer Cot Safe?
Yes, the Cocoon Evoluer cot is very safe and complies with all of the AS/NZS 2172:2010 Australian safety requirements, letting your entire family enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep while you rest assured that your little one is safe and protected in their sleep space. When we were testing this crib out, we noticed that every piece felt super sturdy and secure, so we had no safety concerns about the Evoluer at all!
Is The Cocoon Evoluer Cot Easy To Adjust?
We were pleasantly surprised with how easy the Evoluer cot was to adjust, especially as we only needed to move four bolts to lower the mattress base! As this crib is made from pine, its components are quite heavy so we definitely found that it was easier when we had someone else to help us hold the mattress base while we dealt with the bolts. However, if you don’t have another set of hands to help, you can also turn the crib on its side to shoulder some of the weight.
Is The Cocoon Evoluer Cot Easy To Manoeuvre?
The Evoluer crib is designed to be quite heavy to keep the bed secure and sturdy, so we wouldn’t consider it very easy to manoeuvre. While the design might look robust enough to drag along the floor, we would highly recommend asking someone to help you lift it and place it where you want it in your nursery. This will protect the legs and prevent them from getting damaged and keep the cot looking good for many years to come, so avoid dragging as much as possible!
Is The Cocoon Evoluer Cot Easy To Assemble?
We had the Evoluer cot up and running within well under an hour, so we think it’s quite simple compared to other cribs we’ve tested. All you need to do is attach the sides to the rounded corner pieces with the included hardware! The only issue we had was that the crib was quite heavy, so we’d definitely recommend asking someone for help to lift the pieces together.
Is The Cocoon Evoluer Cot Easy To Clean?
We found the Evoluer cot easy enough to clean, especially thanks to the large closed pieces and the wide bar design. All you need is a damp cloth and some household cleaner for the particularly tough stains. Thanks to the wide bars, there weren’t too many corners to clean within, so we had the crib sparkling fresh in just a few minutes.
Final Thoughts On The Cocoon Evoluer Cot
Overall, we really enjoyed testing out the Cocoon Evoluer cot for ourselves! Some of our favourite features were the 4-in-1 functionality and the fact that it’s been made locally in Australia. The price was a little steep, but it’s important to note that you do get a mattress and toddler bed rail included, so there’s no need to worry about having to buy them separately. One thing we think could be improved on, however, is the short warranty.
