You’ll need to buy a mattress and cot sheets separately, so make sure you get a mattress sized 132 x 70 cm. We’d also highly recommend a mattress protector to prevent any spills leaking through to the mattress!

When we tested the Boori Matilda cot bed out for ourselves, we found quite a few standout features that we wanted to share with you:
Sheer adaptability
One of the best things about the Boori Matilda is how much you can adapt it to suit your baby’s needs. Not only does it have two base heights for the mattress, which you can use to keep newborns closer to you and toddlers from climbing out, but it also transitions into a cot bed when you and your little one are ready to make the transition. We really liked the toddler railing that attaches to the side of the toddler bed to prevent our sleeping children from falling out of the bed, as we didn’t need to spend any extra on this. There’s no need to buy a toddler conversion kit at all!
Rounded corners
Another feature we really liked was the rounded corners of the Boori Matilda Cot Bed, as this added another layer of safety and comfort to the bed that we might not have otherwise thought of. No matter where you look, from the headboard to the side slats, everything is rounded to protect your little one from sharp corners. We appreciated this feature as we didn’t have to worry about leaving our babies alone in their cots and the possibility of injury while our backs were turned.
How Much Does The Boori Matilda Cot Bed Cost?
The Boori Matilda cot costs $469.99, which we don’t think is too expensive considering how much adaptability you get from this one bed. We’ve seen plenty of other cots that offer much less longevity for much higher prices!

The Boori Matilda comes with a five-year warranty which we really appreciate. This gives you plenty of peace of mind, especially as the warranty covers the entire time your little one will be using their bed. This means that even if you only find a manufacturer defect four years into using the bed, your investment should be covered!

Yes, the Boori Matilda Cot Bed Cot is very safe thanks to the helpful features the manufacturer has designed it with. One of our favourites is the rounded edges so there are no sharp corners or edges for your child to snag themselves on. Another safety feature we really like is the two guarded sides that can be made from the cot end panels, so no matter where you want to place the bed in your child’s room, they’ll be less likely to fall out of the sides of their bed. This means that you’re no longer confined to only pushing their bed up against a wall!
Is The Boori Matilda Cot Bed Easy To Adjust?
We had no issues adjusting the Boori Matilda cot and converting it from a cot to a toddler bed! The instructions in the user manual were very easy to follow when we were adjusting the bed, so we got the cot changed from the high mattress position to the lower position within seconds. This is super helpful for parents who want to use the two height adjustments for the newborn and toddler stage seamlessly.
When converting this cot into a toddler bed, we were pleased with how convenient everything was. The guard rails were made from the pieces removed from the headboards, so there’s no need to store these pieces until you’re ready to use them. We had the toddler bed ready to go within ten minutes, and the pieces were safe enough for our toddlers to help with the process, too!
Is The Boori Matilda Cot Bed Easy To Manoeuvre?
The Boori Matilda cot isn’t designed to be moved around, so unfortunately, we had a bit of trouble getting it from room to room. It didn’t fit through a doorway, so we needed to unassemble it to move it to another room before reassembling it again. However, we will say that it was light enough for one person to push it around one room, so if you’re rejigging your nursery, you might not have an issue with the manoeuvrability of this cot.
Is The Boori Matilda Cot Bed Easy To Assemble?
We found the Boori Matilda cot really easy to assemble thanks to the instructions in the user manual which were incredibly helpful and simple to follow. We had the Matilda cot up and running within half an hour, so it’s perfect for busy parents. Unfortunately, there aren’t any instructions on how to put this cot together online, so make sure you keep your paper instructions safe for when you need them in the future!
Is The Boori Matilda Cot Bed Easy To Clean?
The Boori Matilda cot is incredibly easy to clean with warm soapy water and a good magic eraser sponge. Use this all over the cot to wipe away small and stubborn stains without damaging the wood, and make sure you lift the mattress every so often to air the slats. Wipe the wooden pieces with the grain to prevent any damage to the wood, and only use a little water to prevent it from taking ages to dry before you can use it again.

Overall, we were really pleased with the Boori Matilda cot when we tested it out! Some of our favourite features were the adaptability, and how it could easily be changed from a newborn cot to a toddler bed, and the rounded corners for added safety. We wish it was easier to manoeuvre, but if you’re not planning on moving the cot from the nursery, we don’t think this is a dealbreaker for many parents.
