What Are The Benefits Of The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot?
- Many parents really liked the 3-in-1 configuration of this crib, letting them choose between using it as a bassinet, cot, and toddler bed depending on their children’s development
- Both headboards have two peek-a-boo windows, letting you check on your child easily without having to get too close and risk waking them up
What Are The Drawbacks Of The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot?
- Some parents found this crib to be too heavy to move easily at 39 kg, making it more difficult to assemble and adjust as well
Are There Any Accessories Included With The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot?
Unfortunately, the BabyRest Apollo crib doesn’t come with any accessories so you’ll need to buy them separately. This includes the mattress, so make sure you choose one 130 x 69 cm, as this is the recommended size to keep the crib safe to use. Choosing a mattress other than this size might cause bunching or large gaps, which could lead to a dangerous sleep space. Luckily, 130 x 69 cm is one of the most common sizes on the market, so you shouldn’t have an issue finding an excellent mattress for your little one.
You’ll also need to buy the Apollo Junior Bed Rail if you want to convert this crib into a toddler bed with the added security of a guard, so make sure you consider this additional purchase before buying.
What Sets The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot Apart From The Crowd?
When testing the BabyRest Apollo cot out for ourselves, we found plenty of awesome features that we think you’ll also appreciate! Here are a few of our absolute favourites:
The peek-a-boo windows
Not only does the Apollo crib come with fully slatted sides for your little one to peer out of after their nap, but the headboards also feature two peek-a-boo windows on each side. These not only help with airflow and ventilation around your baby, but they also let you see into the crib without getting too close! Parents will know the stress of wanting to check on their children at night but struggling to get close enough in fear of waking them up, so we really liked how these extra panels helped us keep an eye on our babies without having to navigate a darkened nursery. Plus, the panels let your little one play a fun game of peek-a-boo with you, and that’s always a lovely touch.
Choose your preferred configuration
Another thing we appreciated about the BabyRest Apollo cot was its 3-in-1 functionality and how that lets us choose our preferred configuration for our families. The first two will depend on the mattress base height you choose, whether that be the bassinet position or the cot position. The higher option is great for newborns who need more attention throughout the night, while the lower alternative is best for children who can pull themselves up as it keeps them safer and prevents them from falling out. Once your toddler has outgrown the space and is itching for some more freedom, you can then convert it into a toddler bed to use until around their fourth birthday!
How Much Does The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot Cost?
The Apollo cot currently costs $999, making it one of the higher-priced cribs on the market. While the price might be higher than many parents might’ve been hoping for, we think the price is justified considering the quality, design, and amazing functionality. However, with such a high price point, it’s up to you whether you want to invest more in this design.
What Is The Warranty On The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot?
BabyRest comes with a three-year warranty to protect your purchase from manufacturing defects, which we think is quite generous. However, considering the higher initial cost of this crib and its ability to be used for around five years, we’d have liked to see it even longer than three years.
Is The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot Safe?
Yes, the Apollo cot is very safe and conforms to the Australian Household Cots Safety Standard (AS/NZS 2172:2013 and AS/NZS 8124.3:2021), so you don’t have to worry about your baby being unsafe while getting a peaceful night’s sleep. We also really liked that the bars are circular so there are no corners for babies to catch themselves on. This is music to our ears as parents with very wriggly babies who like to travel all over their cot while sleeping!
Is The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot Easy To Adjust?
We found the Apollo cot really easy to adjust. Only a few bolts needed to be removed and re-tightened before the cot was ready to use again with the new mattress position. Within just a few minutes, we had the cot adjusted and ready to go, and you can cut down on this time even more if you ask someone else to help you hold the pieces together as you deal with the hardware.
Is The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot Easy To Manoeuvre?
No, we wouldn’t consider the Apollo cot to be easily manoeuvrable, but that’s because it’s not designed to be moved around very often. With a weight of 39 kg, the Apollo crib is better suited to be placed in a nursery and left there for the years you’ll be using it. We’d recommend you ask another adult to help lift the crib rather than dragging it along the ground to move it into its position as the latter can create issues with the structural integrity of the legs.
Is The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot Easy To Assemble?
We found the Apollo cot simple enough to assemble by reading the instructions in the user manual meticulously before embarking on the mission. All of the hardware and tools needed were provided by BabyRest, so we didn’t have to worry about rooting around in our toolboxes before even getting started! With another pair of hands to help us, we had this cot up and running within well under an hour.
Is The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot Easy To Clean?
The BabyRest Apollo cot is simple enough to clean, although be ready to clean plenty of bars! We really liked the solid headboards with the peek-a-boo windows as they took a little less time to clean, but there are still plenty of bars and corners to get between. The wood is covered with a specific finish, so it’s really easy to clean with a damp cloth.
Final Thoughts On The BabyRest Apollo Fluted Cot
Overall, we really enjoyed testing out the BabyRest Apollo Fluted cot! Some of our favourite features were the peek-a-boo windows on the headboards and the 3-in-1 functionality. It’s a good option for parents who want a well-built crib that can stand the test of time, without all the bells and whistles some modern cots come with. Our only issue with this crib was the hefty weight of 39 kg and how difficult it was to move, but this wasn’t a deal breaker when we had another person to help us with the heavy lifting.
