What Are The Benefits Of The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot?
- Many parents really like the drop-side cot and how it can help their backs, shoulders, and hips, along with adjusting and cleaning the crib
- This cot grows with your child so you can enjoy over five years of use before having to buy another bed for your little one
What Are The Drawbacks Of The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot?
- Some parents wish this cot came with a longer warranty than just one year to further protect their warranty
Are There Any Accessories Included With The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot?
No, unfortunately, the Babyhood Classic Curve cot doesn’t come with any accessories so you’ll need to buy everything you want to use with it separately. The recommended mattress size is 129.5 x 69 cm, so make sure you choose the correct size to keep this crib safe. You should only need a mattress sheet as well, so there aren’t too many accessories you’ll need to buy to create a safe sleeping environment for your little one.
What Sets The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot Apart From The Crowd?
When testing the Babyhood Classic Curve cot out for ourselves, we found plenty of features that we think other parents will love. Here are some of our favourites:
The drop-side design
One of our favourite features of the Babyhood Classic Curve cot is the drop-side design, which makes this cot ergonomically safer for parents! This isn’t a common feature of most modern cots, and it’s even rarer on a classic cot like this one. The drop-side allows you to safely reach into the crib so you can look after your baby more easily – even when they’re at the lowest height setting. There’s no need to worry about falling into the cot or putting your back out, and we even felt the benefits in our shoulders and hips, too. Finally, the drop-side is completely safe to use so you don’t have to worry about its functionality.
It grows with your child
Another feature we love about the Babyhood Classic Curve cot is that it can be used from birth through childhood, allowing your little one to enjoy the same bed without any change throughout the first five years of life. Not only are there two mattress heights to choose from, but you can also take one side of the cot off to slowly transition into a toddler bed. Once your little one is happy with one side of the bars gone, remove the second side and let your child enjoy the excitement of being in their big kid’s bed for the first time!
How Much Does The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot Cost?
The Babyhood Classic Curve cot costs $549, which we don’t think is too expensive considering this cot can be used for longer than five years! In fact, considering its functionality and how much safety testing it’s undergone, we think the price is actually pretty impressive.
What Is The Warranty On The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot?
The Babyhood Classic Curve cot comes with a one-year warranty which, while better than nothing, we were hoping for something slightly longer to cover our investment for more time. As this cot can be used for five years, we would’ve liked to see the warranty cover more than just a fifth of its usage.
Is The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot Safe?
Yes, the Babyhood Classic Curve cot is incredibly safe, so you don’t have to worry about your little one sleeping in anything less than the best. Babyhood tests all of their cots in one of the best and most well-respected independent test facilities in the world, so you can rest assured it’s safe. We always recommend looking for baby equipment that has been tested in an independent facility as these places are unbiased and therefore most likely more reliable, so this is one of our favourite features of all Babyhood cots!
Is The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot Easy To Adjust?
The Babyhood Classic Curve cot is simple enough to adjust, especially from the top and bottom mattress heights. The drop-side made adjusting everything even easier, as we didn’t need to bend over the sides so much to alter the hardware’s position. We had the base height changed within just a few minutes on our own, so it’ll be even easier if you have someone to help!
Is The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot Easy To Manoeuvre?
No, we wouldn’t consider the Babyhood Classic Curve cot easy to manoeuvre, especially as it’s made from grade-A New Zealand timber and doesn’t have castor wheels. While it’s not the heaviest cot on the market, we definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable moving it on our own without the help of someone else to pick up one end and lift it with us. We wouldn’t recommend dragging or pushing it on your own either, as the legs aren’t thick enough to withstand all of that pressure on their own.
Is The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot Easy To Assemble?
We found the Babyhood Classic Curve cot to be very easy to assemble thanks to the clear instructions in the user manual. The only issue we had was trying to work out how to install the drop-side screw pins, but luckily Babyhood has an entire video tutorial online to show you do this to keep the cot completely safe.
Is The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot Easy To Clean?
We found the Babyhood Classic Curve cot super easy to wipe down with warm soapy water, which was often enough to keep it looking sparkling fresh. However, there are quite a few bars to clean between so make sure you set enough time to get to all of them!
Final Thoughts On The Babyhood Classic Curve Cot
Overall, we were really impressed with the Babyhood Classic Curve cot and its functionality. Some of our favourite features were the drop-side design, which turned out to be helpful in a plethora of ways, and how it can grow with our children. We would’ve preferred the warranty to be slightly longer though, as this cot can be used for many years to come.
